Pieter-Jan is a versatile cinematographer with a hands on approach and a jack of all trades when it comes to shaping a certain style. After graduating from film school he started to work as a cameraman for several news media and documentary series for television. Along the way he shot music videos, commercials and short films.

A pivoting point in his career was the short film ‘Da Yie’ directed by Anthony Nti. In 2020 it won the ‘Grand Prix’ at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Ever since the film travelled around the world and received more than 100 awards including 4 awards for ‘Best Cinematography’.

Nowadays he mainly works in fiction but the fire for documentary work still burns. Both have their unique ways of approaching a story, therefore the experience coming from both worlds enhances one another.
